Ron Guerrier

Ron Guerrier is the chief information officer for Farmers Insurance Group. Ron has over 20 years of experience and leadership within IT and a proven track record of driving innovation and building partnerships with both functional and line leadership, as well as creating leadership teams that focus on driving business growth and process excellence.

Since joining Farmers, Ron has worked to define and implement a technology focused strategic vision aligned with the organization’s growth and performance goals across all lines of business. He has also pushed for anticipating future business opportunities with an emphasis on using technology to better reach and interact with users and the marketplace at large. As part of that mission, and in support of the organization’s “Innovation” Strategic Pillar, he has initiated an Innovation Ecosystem that partners with academia and start-ups to ensure Farmers stays current on the latest tech that could be leveraged to benefit the business.

Ron has also worked to increase employee engagement by instituting regular Open Office Hours for himself and the rest of the IT leadership team, as well as huddle sessions, and IT Seminars geared towards educating and informing employees on business and technology.

He is also the executive sponsor for the Farmers Black Professional Alliance.

Prior to joining Farmers, Ron spent 20 years with Toyota; the last 3 years serving as the Chief Information Officer for Toyota Financial Services (TFS). Ron championed the creation of the TFS Innovation Lab in 2011, which received CIO Magazine’s CIO100 Award for promoting innovation and collaboration via the use of technology. Ron was also featured in Jill Dyche’s book published in 2014 titled “The New IT” highlighting the evolution of the CIO role.

When he’s not spending time with his kids at their track and competitive dance events, Ron raises awareness and donations for the reconstruction and self-sufficiency of his parents’ home country of Haiti. He also volunteers for a variety of organizations such as Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, and is an Executive Advisor for STEM Advantage which focuses on assisting underserved communities and women in their pursuit of STEM degrees.

Ron received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and his Master’s Degree in Management from North Park University in Chicago. He has also earned Executive Education Certificates in Information Technology from the University of Chicago, University of California Berkeley, Boston University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
