Dr. Lewis E Leeburg, September 25, 1932 - April 14, 2018

Lewis "Lew" Leeburg, 85, co-founder of the UCLA IS Associates, Anderson Business School professor, beloved father and grandfather, and trusted friend and colleague to so many, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2018.

Lew earned three degrees from his beloved UCLA, where he served as ASUCLA Student Body President during the 1953-1954 school year.  He earned his doctorate in Information Systems Management from the Anderson School in 1971. Lew and UCLA professor Eph McLean, founded the IS Associates in 1978 with a vision to establish a partnership between the University and private sector technology executives and their businesses.  The focus was to further technology education and networking opportunities for the members, and to provide financial support to the Anderson Business School.

After an illustrious 31-year career with IBM, Lew returned to UCLA in 1987 as the Director of the Anderson School’s Information Systems Research Program (ISRP).  Lew served as the     Executive Director of the ISA for 32 years, until his retirement from UCLA in 2011.

Lew was married to his wife, Marilyn "Nonnie" Leeburg, for 63 years, and is survived by children Lynn, Karen, John and Robert; sons-in-law Jorge and Rick; daughter-in-law Cassidy; and grandchildren Anya, Nadia, Eric, Brian and Kelsey.
